Diploma in Ophthalmic Technique(DOT)
Overview
- Diploma in Ophthalmic Technique is a course which deals with Basic eye examination.
- Along with Eye management students will be trained in various departments like Operation theater and basic nursing care which will add extra weight for Job opportunities.
- After pursuing this degree students can work as refractionist along with management of few common eye diseases.
- Students also can also pursue Bachelor degree after this through lateral entry.
- After completion this program, students will have the knowledge and skills to contribute effectively to optical or healthcare trade.
Eligibility
- Candidates should have passes SSLC with minimum of 55% marks.
Duration
- 3 years of course and six months of internship
Attendance
- 80% of total number of classes conducted in an academic year. Only such candidates are eligible to appear for university examination.
Internship
- 3 months (90days) of Clinical postings
Higher Studies
- Lateral entry for B.Sc Optometry(2nd year)
- Lateral entry for Bachelor in Public Health(2nd year)
