Netra Jyothi Charitable Trust

Netra Jyothi Charitable Trust (NJCT) was founded in 2006, under which multiple eye camps are done. Students are given the best chance for hands-on training and also prepared to be mentally strong healthcare workers who will be able to provide healthcare services in any situation.

Netra Jyothi College Celebrated Braille and Glaucoma Day on 20th Jan, 2024

Mr. Calistus D’Sa, the Principal of Roman and Catherine Lobo School for the visually impaired, delivered an informative talk, sharing that his school is dedicated to caring for blind children aged 6 to 16. He urged everyone to support visually impaired students by bringing them to the school, offering free education for a new life. Ms. Rashmi, a faculty member, explained the machines and equipment used for teaching, while Dr. Paresh Pujary, a Glaucoma specialist, delivered the day’s message. Ms. Rashmi Krishna Prasad, the college director, advised students to serve in a deserving manner in their professional fields.

"Drugs and Youth" Nasha Muktha Bharath Abhiyana

Netra Jyothi College of Para Medical Sciences, Udupi, Indian Medical Association, Udupi Karavali and Lions Club, Udupi have jointly organised “Drugs and Youth” Nasha Muktha Bharath Abhiyana at Lions Bhavan Udupi on Feb 20th 2023. Nadoja Dr. Krishna Prasad Kudlu, Medical Director of Prasad Netralaya has inaugurated the programme by cutting a cigerate into two pieces.

Dr. Y.S. Rao, former District Coordinator of IMA Udupi, and Dr. P.V. Bhandary, President of IMA Udupi Karavali, delivered talks on the topic of Drugs and Youth. The event was graced by the presence of Lions President Diwakar Shetty, Secretary Raviraj U.S., Treasurer Vijaya Kumar Mudrady, Dr. Keshav Nayak, Secretary of IMA Udupi Karavali, Ms. Rashmi Krishna Prasad, Director of Prasad Netralaya and Netra Jyothi Institutions, graced the event with there presence, More than 500 students took part in a program aimed at creating awareness about “Drugs and Youth”

Netra Jyothi College, Udupi imparts to students the social responsibility to serve the community, along with education. The Rotaract Club of Netra Jyothi College, Udupi enables its members to grow personally and professionally, address community needs, and promote international understanding through friendship and service.

2019 – 20 Rotaract Installation of Elected President Mr Shayanand Secretary Ms Divya was done by Rtn Rajavarma Ariga. Oath Administration Ceremony for Office bearers of Rotaract club 2019 – 20 was conducted by Rtn Amith Aravind Nayak.

Flood Relief Program

Rotaract Club of Netra Jyothi College, Udupi contributed for the Noble cause sharing flood relief materials namely bed sheets, blankets, rice and other food items, etc) for flood affected areas of Uttar Kannada district by students and faculties of Netra Jyothi College, Udupi on 13 August 2019.

“School for all Project”- (Distributed free note books)

Keeping Education as important motive, Rotaract club of Netra Jyothi College, Udupi organized various programme under the project “School for all”.

On 31 October 2019 Rotaract members initiated this program by distributing free note books to the students of Gundibail Primary Kannada Medium School, Doddangudde.
Around 800 free notebooks whichcost more than ten thousand Rupees were distributed in the presence of school Head Master, Teachers and Students of Gundibail Primary Kannada Medium School.

Blood Donation camp

Trinity Central School in association with Indian Red Cross society of Blood Bank Kundapura conducted Blood Donation camp on 19 October 2019. 10 Members of Rotaract club of Netra Jyothi College Udupi and Co-ordinator of Netra Jyothi College, Udupi donated blood for noble cause.

World diabetes day Jatha- organized by Hi-Tech Hospital Udupi

Members of Rotaract club of Netra Jyothi College, Udupi actively participated in the Diabetes Awareness Jatha held on 14 November2019 from Board high School Udupi to IMA Bhavan Brahmagiri, Udupi.

This day was organized by Hi-Tech Hospital Udupi in association with Lions Club Udupi.Our Club members participated in poster presentation competitions to create awareness about diabetes.

District Sports meet 2019

Rotaract Club of Karkala hosted the District sports meet 2019-2020 on 01 December 2019 in Taluk stadium near KotiChennayya Park, Karkala.

Various sports was conducted such as 100m, 400m, 1500m, Long jump, Shot put, Discus Throw, Relay, Volley ball, Throw ball and Tug of War. The members of Rotaract club participated in the sports and won prizes in Relay, Throwball, Long jump, Shot put, Discus Throw and 400m.

“School For All” Project – “Nali Kali”

Rotaract Club of Netra Jyothi College Udupi, under the project “SCHOOL FOR ALL-NALI KALI” distributed toys, charts, slates, alphabetical and numbers book for the 40 children of “Doddangudde Anganwadi” on Friday 14th February 2020 in the presence of Doddangudde Anganwadi Unit A and Unit B Teachers and Helpers.

District Cultural meet

Rotaract club of Netra Jyothi College Udupi, participated in 4th District Rotaract Cultural Program, 2019-20 held on 19th January 2020 at SMVITM college Bantakal.

Around 12 College of Rotaract Club participated in this Cultural Program. Rotaract club of Netra Jyothi College, Udupi received prizes in all competitions, namely 3rd prize in group dance, group song and skit, and also overall championship 2nd prize. On the same occasion Rotaract members attended District Council Meet

Post Card Abhiyan on “Save Water And Save Life”

Rotaract Club of Netra Jyothi College, Udupi under the Project “Post Card Abhiyan on Save Water and Save Life” posted 2000 post cards to the public of Udupi, Kundapur, Karkala, Kerala, Mumbai and Shringeri in order to create awareness among the public regarding importance of saving water on Friday 28th February 2020.
