Netra Jyothi Shines Bright on World Diabetes Day! Our students proudly represented Netra Jyothi College at the World Diabetes Day Competition held at C.S.I Lombard College of Paramedical & Allied Health Sciences on November 9th. Congratulations to Radhika & Nishmitha (1st-year BPH & B.Sc. Optometry) for winning the 2nd Prize and Shridevi & Aisiri (1st-year B.Sc. OT & AT & B.Sc. Optometry) for securing the Consolation Prize in the Placard-Slogan Writing Competition. Your creativity and dedication inspire us all—keep up the great work! 

Life-Saving Skills Workshop for OT and Anesthesia Students On August 9, 2024, we hosted a specialized workshop for our Bachelor’s and Diploma students in Operation Theatre and Anesthesia Technology. This event, held in collaboration with the Department of Emergency Medicine at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, featured hands-on training sessions led by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐑𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐧, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐑𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐁𝐡𝐚𝐭, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐚 𝐃𝐚𝐬 𝐀𝐝𝐡𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐫𝐢, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐧 𝐊𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐫, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐨𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐊𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐝, and their team. The workshop provided comprehensive training in CPR, Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use, and Advanced Life Support, equipping our students with critical skills for their future careers.

The event aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and substance use. Mr. Shankar Naik, Assistant Drugs Control Officer, was the chief guest and provided insights into how students may become involved with drugs. Mrs. Rashmi Krishna Prasad, Director of Netra Jyothi College, discussed the role of peer pressure in drug use. Dr. Gowri Prabhu, Chief Operating Officer of Netra Jyothi College, spoke about the onset of addiction and its health implications. Dr Rajib Mandal, principal of our college guided our students to take an Oath against substance use. Civil Defence Orientation Program 𝐀𝐧 𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐲 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟏𝟐, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒. ✨ The program aimed to ignite a sense of civic responsibility, provide information about Civil Defence and outline their activities. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐕𝐢𝐣𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚 𝐑𝐚𝐨 graced the occasion and inspired our students.

Dry Eye and Cataract Awareness Month Celebrated 𝐃𝐫𝐲 𝐄𝐲𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 Month was commemorated with a program that was graced by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐚, who specialized in Cornea, Cataract, and Refractive services, along with 𝐃𝐫. 𝐋𝐚𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐦𝐢, a Postgraduate in Ophthalmology. The event featured poster presentations by students on these crucial topics, with prizes awarded to the top three entries.

Post Card Abhiyan on “Save Water And Save Life” Rotaract Club of Netra Jyothi College, Udupi under the Project “Post Card Abhiyan on Save Water and Save Life” posted 2000 post cards to the public of Udupi, Kundapur, Karkala, Kerala, Mumbai and Shringeri in order to create awareness among the public regarding importance of saving water on Friday 28th February 2020.

World diabetes day Jatha- organized by Hi-Tech Hospital Udupi Members of Rotaract club of Netra Jyothi College, Udupi actively participated in the Diabetes Awareness Jatha held on 14 November2019 from Board high School Udupi to IMA Bhavan Brahmagiri, Udupi. This day was organized by Hi-Tech Hospital Udupi in association with Lions Club Udupi.Our Club members participated in poster presentation competitions to create awareness about diabetes.
